Snoopy and me, circa 1962

Snoopy says ... Play with me!
I Love My Boxers! They are
companions unlike any other!

As a little girl, the first dog I can remember is a Boxer bitch named Snoopy. She wasn't what any one else might consider beautiful -- she was a plain fawn with white -- but she was my best friend. She was my constant companion, and I remember her having a litter of puppies on my bed.

Easter morning, 1964 ... my new girl, me and friends
S
noopy traveled with my Mom, Dad and I to Texas when I was six. After we returned, she was disoriented and frightened. Always an escape artist anyway, she managed to leave our yard and was hit by a car. Devastated by the loss of my best friend, my Dad found Shasta, a Rescue Boxer. She was a wonderful dog, and her presence helped to ease the heart of a sad little girl.  I'm the tall one <smile>.

Skye enjoys a boatride on Lake Sonoma, California, 1989
As an adult, when the time came to get a dog, of course there was only one choice ... Boxer. That is how Wilder's Skye Blue Skies came into my life in September, 1980. "Mister Skye" was a large male; loving and friendly he knew the only reason people ever came to the house was to see him. I remember when he was little, a friend wanted us to call him Yoda ... so glad we didn't!!

Kona and Logan
When I purchased Skye from a breeder in Sebastopol, California, I knew I wanted to have Boxers ... pretty much for the rest of my life. He had a good pedigree and was from what would now be considered an "old" line ... he was a Bar Nymph puppy. I linebred him and got a beautiful bitch, Kahlua's Kona Skye. Kona was my girl from the day she came to live with me at 3 1/2 weeks old. Another tragedy led to her momma being killed; since "fate" had me at home on disability, I took her and a littermate home to supplement. With five other puppies, it helped the breeder care for the litter. She was a fantastic guard dog, super with kids and a very special friend.

Wilder's Simply Logan ... the best boy for hugging
Logan stole my heart almost from the day he was born. Over a pound at birth, he was a big boy with an exhuberance for life that left me ragged! Ask most boxer people ... they'll tell you that generally, boxers aren't too fond of furry dogs with upright ears and curley tails. Logan was no exception to that rule. He also touched me the same way my Snoopy did ... I loved him with a child's heart. I still miss resting my head on him and watching TV. What a dog!!

Cody, Angelique, Jeanie and Jewel, Johnny: Oct 98Jewel (RNL A Jewel for Wilder) is Skye's great-great granddaughter. When she came to me, my hope was that she would produce my next litter of beautiful boxer babies. Jewel is a wonderful boxer and loves nothing more than dragging her toys from the toybucket ... one toy at a time. As she got older, I decided she wasn't sound breeding stock, and my search began for a new home for a lovely girl.

Jeanie Speir found my page on the internet, after loosing their family Boxer, Rowdy, and through our correspondence, made the decision to adopt Jewel. Paul and Jeanie live north in Rio Dell, California and Jewel has been there since October 1998. They and their two children, Cody and Angelique, as well as Nacho and Taco, their Chihuahuas, have made room in their homes (and their beds!) for this wonderful girl. Last Jeanie and I talked things were going great and Jewel is sharing her time between Jeanie's home and Jeanie's mom's home. They can even tell their friends they're on the web now. Thanks to a great family for making room in their hearts for a wonderful dog.

RNL Shadow DancerWhen I realized Jewel would not be bred, I approached Lisa Smith of RNL Boxers in Santa Rosa, California. She had bred Kindra, RNL Shadow Dancer. Kindra's daddy was Wilder's Top Sargent, Kona's son. I asked Lisa if she planned on breeding Kindra, and explained my decision regarding Jewel. Kindra has been living back and forth between Lisa and I. Kindra is shown here at 2 1/2 years old.

Kindra and Rider had five girls and five boys, born on July 25, 1998, from 2:06 am to 8:15 am, July 25th, 1998. They were a joy ... Marc and I didn't get much sleep. With our "parent ears" ... those squeals sometimes kept us up all night!  Thank you to everyone that keeps continues to inquire about Kindra and the pups but they're over a year old now and no longer available.

This litter produced Ch TL Cadence Easy Rider, "Eli" and TL Cadence Sweet Dancin Annie, "Annie". Eli is available to health-approved bitches, and Annie is expected to be bred in 2002.
